The Winnetka Fire Department responded to a residential structure on the 800 block of Bryant Avenue just before 4 AM. Upon arrival, firefighters discovered a fire originating from the basement of a home that was in the final stages of renovation. The flames had spread across the first floor and traveled through the walls into the second level, causing significant structural damage. At 4:30 AM, the alarm was escalated from Code 3 to Code 4 and eventually to a Box Alarm as the situation grew more complex.
Tim Olk was among the first on scene and captured several high-quality images of the incident. Later, Larry Shapiro also arrived and contributed additional photos, offering different perspectives of the ongoing fire response.
Several fire companies were dispatched to the location, including engines from Winnetka, Glencoe, Highland Park, and Evanston. Ambulances from Winnetka and Wilmette were also on site to assist with any injuries. Truck companies from Winnetka, Northfield, Highwood, Glenview, and Skokie arrived to support the operation, along with Morton Grove Squad 4. Chief officers from Winnetka, Wilmette, Northbrook, Northfield, and Glenview were present to coordinate the response.
