The Countryside Fire Protection District responded to a residential fire at 25380 Marilyn Lane in unincorporated Lake County shortly after 1:00 AM on Saturday. Neighbors alerted authorities to the blaze, prompting an immediate response. Upon arrival, first-responding units discovered significant flames on the exterior of the home, specifically where the wooden deck met the structure. The fire was already beginning to spread into the house, prompting the alarm to be upgraded to a MABAS Box Alarm.
Countryside firefighters quickly arrived on scene and worked swiftly to contain the fire before it could spread extensively. Mutual aid units from surrounding departments provided critical support during the overhaul phase. The assisting fire departments included Lake Zurich, Mundelein, Libertyville, Buffalo Grove, Lincolnshire-Riverwoods, Long Grove, Knollwood, Gurnee, and another unit from Lake Zurich.
