Trucks has long been committed to a high-quality, low-cost strategy, continuously striving to cut down on vehicle manufacturing costs through technological innovation and process optimization. This approach has led to significant improvements in efficiency and cost control, ensuring that customers receive reliable and affordable products.
At the core of Trucks' philosophy is a user-centric mindset. The company places great emphasis on leveraging science and technology as a primary driver of productivity, implementing high-quality and low-cost strategies with dedication. By focusing on process improvement, management enhancement, technological breakthroughs, and energy conservation, Trucks has launched initiatives like the "10,000 People Saving and Efficiency Improvement" campaign, aiming to build a more sustainable and efficient enterprise.
Facing rising costs of coal, electricity, oil, and transportation in recent years, Trucks’ technical department has taken decisive action since 2004, aligning with the Group’s strategic goals. Through thorough investigations, they identified inefficiencies, assigned tasks, set deadlines, and ensured accountability. By using advanced technologies, they optimized product designs, introduced new materials and methods, and reduced manufacturing costs without compromising quality.
To address material waste from the design stage, the team collaborated closely with the group's technical center, advocating for cost considerations during the initial design phase. For instance, replacing costly seamless steel pipes with welded ones in non-critical areas saved around 50% in manufacturing costs while maintaining performance. Another example involved redesigning mudguard brackets, which were previously expensive and prone to falling off. The improved design not only enhanced durability but also cut costs by nearly 70 yuan per unit.
Over the years, through continuous efforts by engineers and technicians, Trucks has significantly lowered production costs. In 2004, average costs for main models dropped by nearly 300 yuan; by 2005, this figure exceeded 700 yuan per unit. In 2006, it was over 200 yuan, and by 2007, the reduction reached more than 1,000 yuan per vehicle. These improvements have resulted in millions of yuan in cost savings for the company.
Through these technological advancements, Trucks has not only reduced costs but also strengthened its market position. The company now offers more reliable, cost-effective heavy-duty vehicles that are increasingly popular among users of all ages. As a result, CNHTC continues to gain a stronger foothold in the competitive truck industry.
