Parts printed with BEGO™ VarseoSmileⓇ TriniQⓇ Resin including veneers, three-unit bridges, and crowns

Formlabs Dental is dedicated to delivering top-tier solutions for dental 3D printing, addressing the evolving needs of dental professionals by offering comprehensive tools that simplify daily operations. Our latest updates include the addition of BEGO™ VarseoSmile® TriniQ® Resin to our material library, Open Material Mode on Form 4B for printing any 405 nm resin, and Formlabs Resin Washing Solution, a safer, low-odor alternative to isopropyl alcohol.

BEGO™ VarseoSmile® TriniQ® Resin

BEGO™ VarseoSmile® TriniQ® Resin is now compatible with the Form 4B 3D printer. This new addition allows users to produce permanent single units, implant crowns (Ti-bases), and three-unit bridges, enabling the creation of durable and aesthetically pleasing restorations in one day.

“During my testing phase, I found that VarseoSmile TriniQ offers excellent precision and consistency. The workflow is simple and efficient, requiring minimal post-processing. The aesthetic result is also very satisfying, making it ideal for modern prosthodontic treatments.”

Dr. Michael Braian, DDS, CDT, PhD, Founder of SWECADD

A Versatile Resin for Permanent Single Units & Bridges

BEGO™ TriniQ® Resin is the first material approved for permanent bridges (up to three units), and can be used to print the following permanent single units:

  • Crowns
  • Inlays
  • Onlays
  • Veneers
  • Implant-supported crowns

This marks the first time users can create permanent implant crowns (Ti-bases) on the Formlabs ecosystem. Additionally, the resin is suitable for temporary restorations such as single units, bridges up to seven units, and denture teeth.

Certified and Validated

As a Certified Material, BEGO™ TriniQ® Resin has been thoroughly tested on the Formlabs platform, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow. Users benefit from automated resin dispensing, heating, and access to PreForm Dental software, all part of the Formlabs Dental ecosystem.

With Form 4B, you can achieve over 95% surface accuracy within 50 µm of the CAD model, printed at either 50 or 100 µm layer thickness, ensuring a perfect fit every time.

BEGO conducted extensive in-vitro studies to validate the long-term performance of the resin, including testing its fit on Ti-bases. Results showed that BEGO™ TriniQ® Resin is gentle on the antagonist and causes less wear compared to lithium disilicate and zirconia.

Specimen Mean wear of antagonist SD of the mean wear of antagonist
BEGO™ VarseoSmile® TriniQ® Resin 12.3% 4.6%
Lithium disilicate 17.3% 3.7%
Zirconia 22.3% 6.1%

Parts printed with BEGO™ TriniQ® Resin are repairable, relinable, and compatible with various cementation strategies. Fracture load tests showed that even after a 10-year chewing simulation, the breaking load of three-unit bridges exceeds human biting forces of 720 N.

  • Radiopacity investigation
  • Wear behavior

Streamlined Workflow

With validation on the Formlabs platform, BEGO™ TriniQ® Resin users can take advantage of the speed and accuracy of the Form 4B, producing a single crown from scan to polished part in under 50 minutes.

Production of a Single Crown
Scan 5 min
Design and Orientation 5 min
Print 24 min
Wash 5 min
Cure in Fast Cure 5 min
Polish and Finish 5 min
Two 3D printed crowns on supports and two finished

A single crown can be produced from scan to print in less than 50 minutes on Form 4B with BEGO™ TriniQ® Resin — all without sandblasting.

BEGO™ TriniQ® Resin must be printed on Form 4B with Build Platform Flex, featuring a stainless steel surface and quick-release technology, at either 50 µm or 100 µm layer height. Parts do not require sandblasting, resulting in excellent polishability and high aesthetic quality.

Create precisely fitting permanent and temporary restorations or bridges with optimal marginal adaptation, polishability, and longevity — all within an accessible and streamlined workflow that fits your production.

Restorative Dentistry With BEGOâ„¢ and Formlabs

After thorough validation and testing, Formlabs Dental users can now leverage the enhanced mechanical properties and aesthetics of BEGO™ TriniQ® Resin to 3D print permanent restorative parts on Form 4B — all at lower costs than previous permanent restorative solutions. A single cartridge of BEGO™ TriniQ® Resin can print up to 300 crowns, offering a competitive solution for 3D printing permanent restorations and bridges.
