In May this year, the National Development and Reform Commission officially issued new guidelines aimed at adjusting and revitalizing the petrochemical industry. Alongside this, the "Petrochemical Industry Technical Progress and Technological Transformation Projects and Product Catalogue" was jointly released, clearly outlining support for advanced technological upgrades in high-end petrochemical products. Notably, special rubber products were included in the "Highly Value-Added, High-Tech, Innovative Materials" section of the catalogue. These new policies signal a promising shift, offering the special rubber industry a more favorable environment and expanding market opportunities.
Amidst an ever-changing economic landscape, the special rubber and its product industry is now well-positioned to seize emerging opportunities and explore new markets. In July 2009, from July 30th to August 1st, the China National Chemical Information Center and the International Synthetic Rubber Manufacturers Association collaborated to host the Second (2009) Special Rubber and Product Market and Application Technology Seminar in Qingdao, a coastal city known for its industrial significance. This event served as a crucial platform for communication between upstream and downstream players in the special rubber industry.
The seminar brought together leading international experts from the IISRP organization, who shared the latest advancements and technical insights. The organizing committee also arranged exclusive consultation sessions with renowned professionals in the rubber sector, including Xie Zhonglin, Qi Runtong, Lu Baiyuan, and Ji Kuijiang. These sessions provided valuable opportunities to address key questions related to production technology and innovation.
In addition to the expert discussions, several global companies such as LANXESS, Momentive, Daikin, Solvay, Dow Corning, Taiwan Rubber, and Eni European Chemicals participated, alongside major domestic enterprises like Lanzhou Petrochemical, Anhui Zhongding, Wanyuan Jinde, and Nanjing 7425. The event not only facilitated knowledge exchange but also created a real-world setting for supply and demand dialogues among industry stakeholders.
Through face-to-face interactions and one-on-one discussions, the seminar significantly enhanced cooperation between special rubber manufacturers, distributors, and end-users, paving the way for future partnerships and business growth.
