A new generation of State III diesel engine, known as the EGR engine, independently developed by Yangchai has made a significant breakthrough. The exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system has successfully passed emission certification in Tianjin and is now ready for an upgrade to the national IV standard. This marks a major step forward in China's efforts to meet stricter environmental regulations. In June 2008, after the official launch of the China III diesel engine, powered by CNHTC’s fuel injection system and EGR technology, the development path caught the attention of the engine industry. Following this, leading domestic engine manufacturers began their own EGR research and development initiatives, aiming to keep pace with technological advancements. According to reports, Yangchai quickly initiated in-depth R&D on its flagship YZ4DB model. The company used Longkou Long Pump Fuel Injection’s P8500 inline pump and integrated Wuxi Longsheng Technology’s EGR system to develop the State III inline pump product. In December of last year, the YZ4DB2-30 engine, which combined the inline pump with the EGR system, successfully passed the State III emission certification in Tianjin. In March of this year, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People’s Republic of China officially recorded the product. Currently, models such as YZ4DA, YZ4DB, and YZ4DD have obtained relevant emission reports, and domestic vehicle manufacturers are actively working on announcements and further development of these models. This progress highlights Yangchai’s leadership in adopting advanced emissions control technologies and reflects the growing importance of clean energy solutions in the automotive sector. As more companies follow suit, the industry is moving toward a greener and more sustainable future.
