Consumer Reports' April Cover

Consumer Reports' April Cover

For those who follow automotive trends, the April issue of Consumer Reports is a must-read. This month's edition highlights the top ten cars of 2010 across ten different categories. Over time, this annual list has become an important benchmark for car enthusiasts, often reflecting consumer preferences and market trends. This year, Toyota made a strong showing with two standout models: the newly redesigned 2010 Prius, which claimed the top spot in the "Green Car" category, and the Lexus LS 460L, which was crowned the "Best Overall Car."

Toyota's success with the Prius is no surprise. For several years now, the Prius has consistently ranked as one of the most fuel-efficient vehicles on the market. The 2010 model took this reputation even further with enhanced structural integrity and additional upgrades, ensuring its continued dominance in Consumer Reports' rankings. The Prius achieved an impressive 44 mpg, marking its seventh consecutive win in this category.

The Lexus LS 460L, meanwhile, sets the bar high for luxury sedans. Inside, it offers cutting-edge technology like a sleek navigation system with real-time traffic updates, a built-in music storage drive, and an innovative self-parking feature. On the technical side, the vehicle is powered by a robust 4.6-liter V8 engine that delivers 380 horsepower and comes equipped with all-wheel drive. Its environmental credentials are equally impressive, boasting lower emissions than many competitors. In Consumer Reports' evaluation, the Toyota components within the Lexus LS 460L earned an outstanding score of 99 out of 100.

PCR Products

Post-consumer resin (PCR) is an environmentally-friendly packaging option that many manufacturers are using in support of recycling programs, consumer demand, and to reduce their impact on landfills.

PCR plastics are the recycled materials from existing PET bottles and other plastics. These materials are recycled into other packaging materials through community recycling programs. With an estimated 30 billion bottles of water being sold every year across the United States, there is a serious need for increasing the usage of PCR materials to make new products
