The Countryside Fire Protection District (FPD) responded to a house fire at 25380 Marilyn Lane in unincorporated Lake County shortly after 1:00 AM on Saturday. The call came in after neighbors spotted the flames and reported the incident. Upon arrival, first-responding units found heavy fire on the wooden deck adjacent to the home, with the flames beginning to spread into the structure. As a result, the alarm was upgraded to a MABAS Box Alarm to bring in additional resources. Countryside crews acted swiftly, containing the fire before it could cause extensive damage. Mutual aid companies from several nearby departments assisted with the overhaul and containment efforts. The responding agencies included Lake Zurich, Mundelein, Libertyville, Buffalo Grove, Lincolnshire-Riverwoods, Long Grove, Knollwood, Gurnee, and another unit from Lake Zurich. Larry Shapiro, a local photographer, arrived at the scene after the fire had been extinguished and captured several images of the incident. His photos provide a visual record of the firefighters' efforts and the extent of the damage.
