1. **Feeding:** The standard setup uses a belt conveyor to feed plastic scraps such as films, filaments, and raffias into the compactor. For roll-based materials, an optional roll hauling off device can be added. The feeding speed is automatically controlled by the system based on the compactor’s fill level. A metal detector can also be integrated for safety.
2. **Crushing and Compacting:** The rotating blades inside the compactor cut and compress the incoming material. Frictional heating helps to reduce the volume of the material just below its melting point, enabling better feeding into the extruder.
3. **Plasticization and Degassing:** A specialized single-screw extruder gently melts the pre-compact material. The system includes a double-zone vacuum degassing system to remove moisture and volatile substances, making it ideal for heavily printed films and wet materials.
4. **Melt Filtration:** A screen changer is installed at the extruder head to filter out impurities. The type of filtration depends on the quality of the input material and the intended use of the final product.
5. **Pelletizing:** The standard method is water-ring die-face pelletizing. The system features a self-adjusting pelletizing head for consistent quality and long uptime. Advanced drying systems ensure high-quality, dry pellets.
