Cooking can be stressful, especially with limited kitchen space, but a PGS A Series grill gives you more room to experiment and add variety to your menu. Here's a modified version of the classic smoked turkey legs recipe from TasteOfHome.com. We've added a bit more spice and flavor to suit our taste, but feel free to adjust according to your preferences. #### Thanksgiving Smoked Legs **Ingredients** - ½ cup melted butter - 2 tsp sea salt - 2 tsp garlic powder - 2 tsp seasoned salt - 1¼ tsp paprika - 1½ tsp ground ginger - 1 tsp crushed pepper - ½ tsp dried basil - ½ tsp Cayenne pepper - 1 turkey leg (1½ lbs each) - 3 cups soaked applewood chips **Notes on Seasoning & Smoking** Our version is about twice as spicy as the original. We doubled the pepper and used crushed peppercorns for a deeper flavor. If you prefer something milder, use the original recipe, but we still recommend crushed pepper over regular. For a balanced taste, adjust the spices accordingly. Applewood chips give a sweet, fruity smokiness that’s perfect for the season. But don’t be afraid to experiment with other types like cherry, peach, maple, pecan, or ash. #### Directions 1. Mix the first nine ingredients in a bowl and add the melted butter. Brush the turkey legs and let rest for 4 minutes. 2. Add your chosen wood chips to the grill. Place the turkey on the rack and cook over indirect medium heat, covered, for 40–45 minutes. Use a thermometer to check the internal temperature (175°F). Turn every 4–6 minutes. **Make a Smoking Packet** Use heavy-duty foil, place soaked wood chips inside, fold, and poke holes for smoke to escape. Place over direct heat. No Thanksgiving meal is complete without cranberry sauce. ### Cranberry Sauce Recipe **Ingredients** - 1 lb fresh cranberries - 2 cups water - 2 cups sugar - 1 tsp orange zest - 3 whole star anise Combine all ingredients in a pan over medium heat on your PGS Grill Side Burner. Simmer for 10 minutes, remove the star anise, and serve after cooling. ### PGS A Series Grills: Built to Last PGS A Series grills are designed for durability, style, and long-term performance.
