Hyssion Specialty Chemicals, the world's largest manufacturer of thermosetting resins, claims that it is acquiring Rohm and Haas's global wax product business. However, the details of the transaction were not disclosed to the outside world. According to reports, Rohm and Haas's acquired business includes wax compound technology and product lines, production equipment and related business assets. Rohm and Haas wax products include wax compounds for printing processes, as well as solvent-based and aqueous wax emulsions for the printing inks and coatings industry.

"This acquisition is of great significance to us. Rohm and Haas's technology in this field will enrich our existing wax product chain and thus provide customers with a wider range of products and total solutions." Sarah Coffin, President of Hayson's High Performance Products and Inks Division, said. The vice president responsible for Rohm and Haas's architectural and functional coatings business said that “the company's wax additive business is focused on developing core emulsion technology business.”
