There’s something inherently captivating about natural, handmade products—something that draws us in and makes them stand out. Perhaps it’s the meticulous attention to detail, the passion poured into every creation, or the sense that each piece carries the creator’s heart within it. Or maybe it’s the authenticity and uniqueness of these items, which feel like they’ve been touched by the soul of their maker’s homeland. It could also be the knowledge that buying such products supports artisans and their livelihoods, helping preserve traditional crafts while making a positive impact on communities worldwide. And let’s not forget the environmental benefits of choosing sustainable, non-mass-produced goods. At Restoration Oak, we’re deeply moved by these stories and the joy these creations bring. That’s why we’re committed to finding extraordinary pieces from around the globe to enrich your space and life.
One of our most cherished collections is called Pressed Flowers. These exquisite platters, bowls, and serveware are crafted by talented women artisans in Colombia. During a visit to Colombia in 2003, Omar discovered their incredible work and fell in love with their dedication to creating these stunning pieces. Each item begins as pine wood, adorned with real flowers—like gardenias and roses—that are carefully picked from their gardens and pressed flat using old-fashioned telephone books. After drying, the flowers are arranged by hand onto the wooden base, followed by multiple layers of epoxy for protection. The end result is both breathtaking and practical—a true testament to craftsmanship. This collection is exclusive to Restoration Oak, and we’re thrilled to collaborate with these inspiring women to develop new designs. By purchasing one of these pieces, you’re not only adding a touch of Colombian flair to your home but also supporting the livelihoods of these remarkable artisans.
Another highlight of our offerings are the breathtaking Molten Glass Sculptures from Bali. These works of art are crafted by skilled Balinese men and women who pour their hearts into every piece. Each sculpture starts as molten glass, hand-blown over a fire and then fused onto driftwood collected from local beaches. The combination of the organic driftwood and vibrant molten glass creates pieces that are unlike any other—each one a unique masterpiece. You’ll notice burn marks from the hot glass on the wood, adding to the raw beauty of these creations. These artisans rely on the sales of their work to sustain their families, and we’re proud to partner with them to bring their talent to a global audience. Every purchase supports their efforts and adds a touch of Bali’s spirit to your home.
As we continue exploring the world, we’re always on the lookout for fresh, inspiring finds to share with you. Handmade items bring a warmth and character to your living space that mass-produced goods simply can’t match. They tell a story, reflect care and effort, and often carry cultural significance. Isn’t it rewarding to own something that’s not just functional but meaningful too? Whether it’s a pressed flower platter, a molten glass sculpture, or another unique piece, these creations remind us of the beauty in simplicity and the value of preserving tradition. So, why wait? Visit us today and discover the perfect addition to your home—one that resonates with your personal style and tells its own story.
