In the construction industry, around 70% of rework can be traced back to a gap between design intent and what’s actually feasible on-site. As projects progress, making changes becomes increasingly complex and expensive. By prioritizing constructability during the design phase, teams can prevent costly rework later on. Since most project value is created early—when mistakes are easier and cheaper to fix—it’s more important than ever to get things right from the start, which makes consistent communication essential.
To support this, we’re introducing new tools designed to help project teams make better decisions earlier, without requiring deep technical expertise or specialized software. These updates offer a comprehensive approach, helping teams manage tasks, evaluate trade-offs, build on intuition, and validate assumptions—leading to more informed choices throughout the project lifecycle.
Let’s explore how these new features will strengthen the link between design and execution.
**Access relevant information through early and frequent communication**
For project teams, it’s crucial that documents are accurate, up-to-date, and easy to access. When information is scattered or outdated, it leads to confusion, disputes, and errors. To address this, we’re launching **Correspondence**, a centralized hub for all project communications within Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC). This tool allows teams to store, search, and manage all project-related messages in one place, ensuring clarity and transparency. Users can import correspondence from Outlook or Gmail directly into ACC, making it simple to track key decisions and maintain project quality.
Chris Rossetto, VDC Manager at Hansen Yuncken, shared: “The Correspondence tool is a game-changer. It has the potential to revolutionize how we handle project communication. We’ve been stuck with basic platforms that don’t meet our needs, but this could bring us closer to a unified data environment.â€
Additionally, we’re introducing **Model Quality Workflows**, a set of tools that help translate complex design models into construction-ready versions. This release allows users—from BIM managers to field engineers—to create custom views tailored for onsite teams, making it easier to understand and act on critical information. With clearer models and timely access, onsite productivity improves significantly.
We’re also launching **Sheets Collection**, a feature that simplifies document management by allowing teams to organize and access drawings more efficiently. This is especially useful for multi-building projects where duplicate sheet names can cause confusion. Sheets are now easily accessible to both office and field teams, streamlining workflows and reducing administrative overhead.
**Reduce tech complexity and streamline systems of record**
In AEC, time is often wasted switching between multiple apps, and siloed data can slow down decision-making. With ACC, we aim to keep workflows in one place, ensuring everyone has access to the same system of record.
One such update is **Bridge for Closed RFIs**, which allows users to share closed RFI responses across projects or accounts. This ensures all stakeholders have the information they need to make confident decisions. It also helps retain critical knowledge beyond the project lifecycle.
Earlier this year, we integrated the **Embodied Carbon in Construction Calculator (EC3)** into ACC, enabling teams to calculate carbon emissions directly within their primary platform. This empowers more sustainable material choices and supports green building practices.
These improvements reduce the burden of managing multiple systems, boosting productivity and enabling faster, smarter decisions.
**Boost individual productivity and ensure project transparency**
Manual processes and misalignment between 2D and 3D workflows often lead to poor decisions that affect schedules and budgets. Today’s updates focus on improving transparency and delivering only the most relevant information to teams when they need it.
By simplifying access to critical data at every stage, we empower teams to work more efficiently and effectively. The goal is to provide real-time, accurate insights so construction professionals can deliver high-quality projects on time and within budget.
