The Bulb Replacement Procedure

  1. Start by opening your hood and locating the headlight assembly.
  2. Find the rubber cover located at the rear of the headlight within the engine bay.
  3. Detach the electrical connector from the bulb by gently pressing both sides until it pops off.
  4. Remove the rubber housing to expose the metal clip securing the bulb.
  5. Press down on the metal clip and slide it out of the way to free the bulb.
  6. Take out the old bulb carefully, ensuring not to touch the glass part of the new one to avoid oils from your skin affecting its lifespan.
  7. Align the tabs on the new bulb with the corresponding slots in the housing as you insert it back in. This can be done by inserting it in the same manner as when you removed it.
  8. Reinstall the rubber housing (if previously removed) and push it firmly into place to act as a moisture barrier.
  9. Finally, reconnect the electrical connector securely.

Congratulations! You’ve successfully replaced the headlight bulbs in your Toyota Tacoma.
